The Tru-Flo® Asphalt Pump Skid manufactured by Hotmix represents the latest technology for precision measurement and injection of liquid A.C. used for hotmix asphalt plants.

A state-of-the-art continuous pumping and electronic asphalt metering assembly is provided that can meter material to the drum mixers or any continuous process. The pumping and metering unit is designed and built to exact specifications for precise measurement and to help avoid wasting very costly liquid asphalt.

The System is completely skid mounted. The inlet and outlet are flanged and all internal parts are jacketed and plumbed for hot oil, resulting in quick field installation. A removable basket strainer is provided on the inlet side of the pump skid.

A 3-way valve is controlled using a heavy duty rack and pinion rotary actuator to direct flow from the A.C. tank to the plant. A second 3-way valve is provided to manually divert the flow to tanker during the A.C. meter calibration.
A variable frequency drive is included to control the pump motor speed pending flow requirement. By changing the speed of the motor, the rate of the asphalt flow changes.
The operation of the Tru-Flo™ Asphalt pump skid is simplistic in design. Liquid asphalt flows through the meter and turns a toothed gear. A magnetic sensor sends a pulse signal from the gear and back to the control system. A temperature probe indicates the asphalt temperature, providing automatic temperature compensation.
One moving meter part reduces the tolerance for out-of-tolerance conditions. Adding precise electronic calculations gives the meter an accuracy of 2/10 of 1%. In comparison, many other asphalt flow meters maintain accuracy of between 5/10 of 1% to 5%. This translates into a dramatic annual cost savings by lowering the amount of liquid asphalt used.
An added feature when installing a Tru-Flo™ asphalt pump skid with Hotmix's Accu-Track® Total Plant Control - the asphalt pump transmits pulse signals to the Accu-Track™ control. Benefits include back-up meter capabilities and cross-check diagnostics for optimum performance.
