Designed with two sections of coil, a serpentine radiant section and a finned economizer section, it provides up to 200% more surface area than convection heaters.
Return oil from the asphalt plant enters the system through an air/oil separator which feeds the positive displacement pump. The oil is pumped through the finned tube economizer section to the wide convention heating area. The economizer section is designed to squeeze out the last heat release from existing flue gas. This feature offers the greatest attainable efficiency in the industry.
As the oil leaves the economizer section, it is routed to the radiant section. This sections consists of serpentine radiant coils with space between the tubes, which maximizes the surface area exposure for maximum heat transfer. The Hotmix's Hot Oil Heat Exchanger is available in units rated at 500,000 to 4 million BTU's.
